With unwavering determination and a steadfast commitment to duty, the recipient demonstrated exceptional bravery and gallantry in the most challenging of circumstances. Their actions reflect an unshakable resolve and a profound dedication to service. Through their courage, they have set a remarkable example of character, integrity, and selflessness, embodying the highest standards of the law enforcement profession.

Citizen of the Year: This award is presented in recognition of an individual’s selflessness and bravery during a moment of crisis. Their actions displayed extraordinary courage and resourcefulness in the face of danger, selflessly putting their own safety at risk to assist another. By acting fearlessly and decisively, they exemplified the true spirit of heroism, offering a powerful example of courage in adversity for all members of the community. Their commitment to helping others reflects the highest values of humanity and community service.

Blue Star Award: The Blue Star Award is presented to deputy sheriff personnel who have sustained a serious wound or injury requiring hospitalization or immediate medical care by a physician. The injury must be of such a nature that it poses a potential risk of death or extended disability. To qualify for this prestigious award, the wound or injury must have resulted from the deliberate actions of another, either in an attempt to harm the officer, another individual, or property, or during the apprehension of a suspect. It may also apply to injuries sustained while attempting to save a human life, placing oneself in immediate danger in the process. The Blue Star Award honors the courage and sacrifice made by those who face peril in the line of duty.
